ADR-0006 Positioning: bankroll management on autopilot, not enforcement

Version: 1 · 2026-10-02 · accepted

Decision

Bankroll40 is positioned as an easy bankroll manager that keeps good money management, risk management and tilt discipline running on autopilot. The mechanics are unchanged: stake suggestion with automatic move-down, stop-loss pause, cool-off hold, re-entry cap, tournament budget, typed notes on every override. The language around them is nudge, pause and hold, never lock, refuse or enforce.

Why

The owner rejected the enforcement framing: nobody installs an app to be told no. Players want tracking that takes seconds and discipline that happens without effort. The product's value is that the discipline is automatic, and the copy should say that.

Consequences

Landing page, app copy, store listings and the spec's lead paragraph use the autopilot framing. The rules remain the professional standard by default (ADR-0003). Overrides stay possible and recorded; the record, not the lock, is what changes behaviour.
