ADR-0003 One bankroll standard: 40 buy-ins, no presets
Version: 2 · 2026-10-02 · accepted (v1 had a professional and a recreational preset; the owner rejected the split)
Decision
Every pot starts from one rule set: floor 30 buy-ins (drop a stake below it), standard 40, move up at 50 buy-ins of the next stake plus 100 logged hours, stop-loss 3 buy-ins, cool-off 12 hours, session cap 8 hours, re-entry cap 2 per event, tournament budget 5 percent of the cash pot per month. Thresholds are editable, cold, never during a live session; every edit below the standard is logged as a rule change and shown next to its cost.
Why
In poker theory the 25-versus-40 split is about whether the roll is replenishable from outside income, not about skill. For a product whose thesis is discipline, a softer mode is the setting a player picks on a bad night. A bigger roll never lowers a win rate; it only delays moving up, and the delay is the discipline.
Consequences
The brand carries the number. Players who want a lower bar can set one, and the app will say what it cost them.
